Re: 2025 WSD World Championship (19th-22nd Feb) - Circus Tavern
Why? Let’s be honest this was always just gunna be an exbo thing. Trying to make it a tour was a farce. Just make in an invitational exhibition. I doubt TV would have even taken it to start with without Taylor on board.
Team Corvid 2025 consists of the following 12 players.
Clayton, Littler, Gilding, De Sousa, Wright, Evans, Campbell, Scutt, Lauby, Rob Owen, Patrick Geeraets and Justin Hood.

People just want to see the old legends, who mask the fact that one is watching some old farts. Just one WC tournament with 95% handpicked well-known players will probably work, and since it is a world championship finding a broadcaster will also be easier. That they got broadcasters for the other tournaments before was something special
Just make it a yearly worlds 16 players all invited job done.

They have a deal with TNT to show their 3 events this year and in 2026: https://x.com/SeniorsDarts/status/1838654776466399722
What actually is the origin of the idea that they have cancelled events?

One of the announced dates is the end of next month, but they are only trying to sell tickets for the WC. Seems a bit late start selling now in the case you already had a venue/tv-deal fixedRogg wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 9:36 am They have a deal with TNT to show their 3 events this year and in 2026: https://x.com/SeniorsDarts/status/1838654776466399722

Looks shite so far. I guess Howson earned it performance wise but if it’s invite only from here on out then you’re not gonna get another player like him come through. There might be a 50 year old out there now nobody really thinks about who could be good enough to win this shit.
Assume they’ll hold a couple spots for open qualifiers?

They are ok with the people who have came through the tour ranks so far. You also have Colin McGarry and Richard Rowlands. Invite them I say.TheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 10:53 pm Looks shite so far. The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.
