Proper stuff and as expected a gold in the first weekend to lure the players in (good for hotel deals). Can see a lot of (the better) players coming to play the first weekend as they propably want to be in Hungary on the Tuesday evening anyway, for a proper preparation. Also good to see that the prize money is known immediatly. Nothing about a tv deal or stream, but overal som good news

Prize fund is the same for the World Masters, Which is a shame was hoping for an increase (But it doesn't matter really)

I like the idea of a festival of darts, I would assume the World Masters will be streamed. It was on Hungarian TV (I think) last year so i can see the same again.

The more people support the event the better.

I hope many people come over to watch from neighbouring countries.

Wasnt expecting an increase seeing how low Lakeside was (which they announced after the WM). Having it the same is more or less positive I think, although inflation is making it less offcourse, and by announcing it right away, WDF seems a bit more sturdy/trustworthy than before (almost like they know what they are doing). The gold is a bit lower, but it last year might have been WDFs tournament and know the Hungarian Federation one. So they propably just do the minimum-ish, to grow the reserve. Hungarian Classic and Masters were both bronze last year, so this is a nice improvement (even if the WO goes to silver).

Its good to have a block like this, not everybody can travel anywere and now you can do a lot of tournaments in a short time, with lots of points available and if you are not in a qualficitation spot after that, there's still the qualifiers.

Yes it was on Hungarian TV, they probably are still busy getting them back. No news on a format change unfortunatly, but don't think we will hear anything about that before it is certain that there wont or will be tv coverage

Fitton was this year at the Dutch Open, but not sure about his form. Might be a little chance, but doesnt help that the expected (same as last year?) board sponsor differs from his employer. Would be nice if Lim has some sponsors because of Lakeside to sent him to the WM

Desperate times for WDF.

Jackie might be the most famous person in the venue if he comes.

I think personally get rid of world open and pairs events and use the 15k to add on to world master prize fund

Increase the men’s to the semis 250/500/1000/1500/2500
Rest the same that makes it 50k
And the format should be best of 5 sets 3 legs from knockout rounds then semi best of 7 final 9 sets

Definitely a positive it’s announced early tho

Those tournaments are propably there to make money for the WDF/HDF and to get people into the venue so they drink, and the WDF/HDF can get a better deal on the venue. I think they are going to make a lot on the World Open, as players are already there, so they will probably pay a bit of a higher entry fee. On the messy website they have changed the administration fee for the WM to 'soon' but left the World Open at 40. It still is mentioned as a gold, and also the prize money is last years, and the schedule is also a mess with a warm-up pairs event on the Friday before the first weekend, and the pairs/triplets on Monday etc, so it isnt a trustworthy website. But I wouldnt be suprised if they left it at 40 and just profit from the people who are already there. It is on a Friday so the fun players might just stay at work, so no real need to attract them with lower fee.
