As to why they would be joined together i have no idea.

It was for export to South American countries. Apparently their gun laws were all different and sometimrs changing. So it was down to the local seller to decide where to separate the barrel.

Oh and then you could cut the longer piece again to the correct size. Interesting.

Yes, the three common ones are also called accents (accute, grave and circumflex) but diactirics refer to all the various other ones as well.

I wasnt aware of the double accute.
