Gives a lot of players who can't afford the travel tour a chance.

Thats because global means Europe. Just 4 dedicated spots of the 56 go to non-Europe regions. Womens ADC gets 2 spots, all tournaments played in England, Modus SS get 3 spots, nearly all players come from West-Europe (probably will be seeing the Whitlocks as I believe they live in the UK), and the current global champion (currently an South-African) also gets a spot. 28 spots (50%) to Ireland/UK, 18 spots to mainland Europe.

Before I thought they were giving wildcards for the more popular players, but they made it hard to miss out for the better players. Will be interesting to see if Vincent and the Bronzed Adonis are going to play the ADC. Vincent will do modus for sure as that is his management.

Can see the WDF going into fighting mode, and giving wildcards to the household names that qualify for ADC. Surely the Wolf cant resist Lakeside, and the chance of becoming a 4 time winner. And old Barbara might be a single lady. I wonder if Modus will push players to choose the ADC and hinting that they will be chosen less to play on the normal weeks.
