I only watched the last couple of legs and Waddell made a couple more digs at the BDO then, something like it's all action in this tournament and not a dud like other tournaments. I have no doubt he had more digs throughout.

Yeah he was selling the fact that this was the professional world championship but only really digged at George.

Anderson was terrible that night, missing countless opportunities. He was scared of the idea of Taylor. I think that was the night after Taylor's meltdown about Mason and he seemed still to be flustered.

Oh right. I know what I'm thinking about now. It was the night after the Painter problem, not the Mason problem. Taylor needed 50 for the match to beat Painter and went straight for the bull, and hit it. Painter then suggested an alternative way of settling the contest involving fists and a car park.

It's an odd feeling to see Gregory talking about the Embassy owing its majesty to the fact that it's been around for... 18 years.

18 years to us is only as far back as Barney beating Taylor to win the worlds. That's basically yesterday.

I'm not sure what my point is.

Concept of time. Adding in the fact that there could be a world champion crowned tonight who was born after Barney vs Taylor is another factor

Cool point. Littler was born on 21st January 2007, 20 days after the Taylor-Barney final.

2005 final notes

- Sid Waddell loves the best of order.

- In the first leg, Sid is bigging up Mark Dudbridge has the next big thing.

- Taylor playing with darts with him wearing sunglasses on them

- Chase the Sun music i assume this was the 1st year (20 years plus now), Marc-Pierre White (Chef) in the crowd smoking

- Dudbridge mouthing "Fuck" when missing tops for 2-2 in the 2nd set, Wins the set with a 121 checkout on bull

- Premier League mentioned, It would come in a month later.

- Dave Lanning talking about the "Exciting New talents" as the youngsters have caught the eye Mentions Chris Mason (35), Andy Hamilton (37), Colin Lloyd (31), Mark Dudbridge (31)

- Loads of Pies have come into the studio - Made by Marc-Pierre White

- Dudbridge misses tops for 3-1, Taylor makes it 2-2. That was the moment Dudbridge could have run away with it

- Dudbridge dubbed "Future World Champion" by Waddell

- Bob Russell MP in the audience (He was the guy who wanted darts to be a sport), Sid Waddell mocks the fact this isn't an olympic sport

- Russ Bray voice sounded great at the Circus Tavern

- 3-3 in sets. Dudbridge missed 6 darts for the leg, Taylor checked out 120

- The Circus Tavern crowd raised £11,397 for the tsunami earthquake

- Stuart Pyke is actually decent on comms here. Bigged up Dudbridge as the former World Master

- Dudbridge checks out 100. Taylor looks worried and bites on his flights, But checks out 128 to win the 8th set

- Crowd are very Pro-Phil Taylor singing "Walking in a Taylor wonderland"

- Pyke saying he thinks Dudbridge will win a World Title soon (Around the highest level for a long time to come) , Says the talent in the PDC is better than ever to challenge Taylor

- Dudbridge hit 14 180s, 11 of them in losing legs. Gwynnes says this won't ever happen again (An interesting question)

- Taylor hits 101 finish to win the title, Hugs Russ Bray (Who isn't that happy about it)

A decent final but Phil Taylor was by far vulnerable & didn't play that well. Dudbridge didn't have the belief he could beat him which was a shame.

Mark Dudbridge 4 (90.66) 14x 180s
Phil Taylor 7 (96.14) 7x 180s

Doubles

Dudbridge: 36%
Taylor: 41%
