A couple of people picking Rob Cross, naturally. You don't have to like all 8 of his tv titles but they do hint at a non-truth!

235 WC • 2018 - Rob Cross def Phil Taylor 7-2
247 WSE • 2018f - Brisbane D.M. - Rob Cross def Michael van Gerwen 11-6
264 WM • 2019 - Rob Cross def Michael Smith 18-13
271 EC • 2019 - Rob Cross def Gerwyn Price 11-6
296 EC • 2021 - Rob Cross def Michael van Gerwen 11-8
333 WSE • 2023e - New Zealand D.M. - Rob Cross def Nathan Aspinall 8-7
334 WSE • 2023f - New South Wales D.M. - Rob Cross def Damon Heta 8-1
348 WSE • 2024c - US D.M. - Rob Cross def Gerwyn Price 8-7

Cross is world series merchant

Cross as a one hit wonder must only come from people who don’t watch it. Worlds, Matchplay and 2 Europeans is more than the majority of players can say. World Series events whilst not meaning too much, aren’t easy to win and he’s picked up a chunk of them too, as well as a Euro Tour and multiple floor titles. I know you all know this already, it’s just bizarre that his name gets brought up

Arguably his other major wins haven't been the most memorable but it doesn't take anything away from him

Classy Crossy is a fine player and he will win another major

Maybe the final of the matchplay wasn't memorable, 95 averages a piece is fine but the semi final that got him there was the greatest comeback in Matchplay history, coming from 15-9 down to beat Gurney 17-15. He averaged 100, 98, 101, 96 and 95 to win that title

His Euro championships were however handed to him on a plate.

How the fuck can a player be only a 1 hit wonder when they won the two biggest ranking PDC majors in the game, two additional PDC premier events, and has been ranked in the top 10 of the PDC OOM for around 7 years?
