I watched that Harrington-Manley final a few years back. It's a real struggle and you can stuff your segments. They showed a thermometer at one point and kept saying about how roasting hot it was at the winter gardens. Was there a heatwave that week in 1999? Harrington comes back from an interval without his waistcoat on = This Is Serious. He was now a snarling black-shirted Harrington.

The playing conditions at the Matchplay have been horrendous on a few occasions over the years due to heatwaves. There was a session in 2016 where it was scorching iirc.

When I went in 2022 the first Sunday it was 32 outside inside I'm sure people passed out. Lukeman's head on the night vs Wade was hilarious his towel was absolutely minging and he threw it into the crowd at the end

That is my idea of hell.

I can deal with the cold pretty well, but I loathe excessive heat.

I was horrendous on the night Session we didn't even drink beer I was literally warm within minutes everyone around us was the same Pop and Jugs of Ice Water
