The dilemma is that both Lakeside and WDF will want more sessions - any extra tickets sold is more in the prize fund for the WDF, and Lakeside only make money now on hospitality and programmes. Which is why they should be a bit more flexible on ticket prices.

But more sessions doesnt necessaraly mean more tickets sold, although more players probably means that they bring some friends/family. People think of a party when they hear darts, but get a big dissapointment when they come on certain days. Those screenshots are also what gets shared on social media and hurt the image. Most people probably just book 1-2 sessions, so they dont need a session every day, unless you are just in town for a few days. If people think of Lakeside of a fun busy place, then they might visit more often, if its just 100 people and you and your mate are the only ones in a animal suit, you might pick the PDC the next time.

In the end I think it has to be a lean tournament with focus on the days/times that sell, and hope that people who would book for monday afternoon now book a other spot. No more watering down the product. I also think a more lean product would increase the chance of getting tv coverage, because its less sessions, but also the session look nicer with more people

Lovely stuff, thanks!

First saturday evening sold already 92 more than last years online 'total' sales, despite there being a new competing option (in the sence of mid-priced, first round levels of play, probably next day off, evening) on Friday evening. That Friday is already worth more than the 11.283 last years mon-thur afternoons combined made. First Saturday afternoon just 13 visitors behind last year and the 2nd Friday afternoon just 4 behind, whilst the evening is 19 behind.

Finals Sunday is plus 75 (although your numbers update didnt go past thursday evening, so they are not final) and is worth more than the last years finals sunday and the weekend package that they then had combined (55.065). This weekend sales are worth 124.340, last years were 101.820. Average price for a 2nd weekend session is now almost 10 pound higher than last year. First weekend now gives a total of 71.135, last year was 62.540. Thats not bad, as it has a lot of matches (12 a day) and probably will bring a bunch of friends/family, which will probably make another few grand.

Last year latest numbers gave a total of 226.300, so they already made a lot more than last year.

They have in advance, although they sold out the Friday night, both sessions on Saturday and the Finals last year, which never got reflected in the numbers I posted. It will be interesting to see what the draw and the order of play does to sales, especially early on in the week.

Thursday also doing well, but among the more popular sessions, the first sunday is way behind relatively. It probably will surpass last year total numbers, but probably wont grow as much as the other sessions relatively.
