Edhouse and Wattimena were muddling along in the floor qualifiers for much of the ET season and did very well just to qualify.
Not including late call-ups - because I've lost that list - Wattimena was an auto-qualifier on the Euro Tour 0 times this season. To have turned out £89,500 and a GSoD spot is astonishing really.
PDC will now argue the extra match practice did these players well so format is great!![]()

Wade's default setting. It was odd to be following darts without the forum. I even enjoyed the wadey vs wattijobber match, the cunt played well in fairness and backed it up next round, shame he violently choked the final though.

Unfortunately it will get forgotten how well Jermaine and especially Shithouse actually played to clear out the traditionally bigger names. Some really good stuff to unravel Anderscum, Wade and M-Smith. Good! I hate when top table players are permitted to tumble into a final because the undercard players weren't up to stopping them.
The final was unwatchable but I am proud of them both for having a cracking little week.

Unfortunately for Wattimena the curse of the second semi-final struck, it’s hard to get back down to Earth and then ready for the final so quickly after what must be a great adrenaline rushRogg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:26 amUnfortunately it will get forgotten how well Jermaine and especially Shithouse actually played to clear out the traditionally bigger names. I get that the cream rises to the top in the longer format events, but it’s not surprising that the lower averages are either ages ago before the era of toyboards, or in events where players had to play at least 3 games on the final day, it takes it out of you!Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:11 pm Thanks to FEBsData @FEBsData ---> https://x.com/FEBsData

This... especially for Capy who had to come from that 21 leg semi pretty much straight to the finalthegentle wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:19 pmI get that the cream rises to the top in the longer format events, but it’s not surprising that the lower averages are either ages ago before the era of toyboards, or in events where players had to play at least 3 games on the final day, it takes it out of you!Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:11 pm Thanks to FEBsData @FEBsData ---> https://x.com/FEBsData

I watched that Harrington-Manley final a few years back. It's a real struggle and you can stuff your segments. They showed a thermometer at one point and kept saying about how roasting hot it was at the winter gardens. Was there a heatwave that week in 1999? Harrington comes back from an interval without his waistcoat on = This Is Serious. He was now a snarling black-shirted Harrington.

The playing conditions at the Matchplay have been horrendous on a few occasions over the years due to heatwaves. There was a session in 2016 where it was scorching iirc.Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 11:03 pm I watched that Harrington-Manley final a few years back.
