At least part of that is because up against a generally lower standard of player who is likely to give them chances to miss doubles, Noa is averaging 85.81 for the season on the Challenge Tour, Beau is averaging 87.9 on the Dev Tour. Aside from using it as a route to the Slam and potentially Ally Pally, Beau is so far ahead of the rest of the women that she doesn’t get much out of playing the Women’s Series imo, but it’s good she’s played on the Dev Tour this year

Yes, averages are normally ungenerous to the better players who have more chance to miss doubles than they would against better opposition.

However, my comment is that there really isn't anything in the averages or first 9s to suggest that the overall standard is improving.
If anything the overall 2024 stats are worth than 2023.
What we seem to be getting is a few new names as other fade away.
Would probably have to look at the ages.
