Not saying Clacton is great, but there's no way it's as bad as Jaywick down the road from it, which is one of the biggest shitholes i've ever seen in the UK.
Regarding the Southend shout, it has definitely become more depressing than it was 15 or so years ago, but there's still some decent areas to live in Southend that probably takes it out of the list.
I'm surprised there's a lot in the list in the South West of the country, which you'd expect to be a bit nicer to live

So is Bridlington
Scarborough on the other hand is absolutely fucked especially the town centre and street down to the front.
Whitby still my favourite on the North East coast
Seahouses is similar for parking knobs

The South West has gone downhill over the past 15-20 years.... Just as many shitholes in Devon as nice towns tbhTheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 10:31 pm Not saying Clacton is great, but there's no way it's as bad as Jaywick down the road from it, which is one of the biggest shitholes i've ever seen in the UK.

There's a cracking gay karaoke bar in St Austell, went there when I was playing county for Bedfordshire.
On the whole it's a bit rough though aye.
