Interestingly November 1 was a Public Holiday in Melbourne last year, but won't be again until 2033.

Does anyone know why?

Isn't it something to do with the Melbourne Cup ?

Since then he's only won two PDC TV events.

Anyway, I actually agree it shouldn't be brought back. However, I assume Oche has a fondness for it for nostalgia reasons (as do I). So I can't blame him for wanting it to be brought back.

The summer used to be great for PDC darts with the Matchplay, DC, and UK Open all occurring in the period between June and July. Nowadays all we get is the Matchplay, shitty WS events, and the crappy World Cup.

When I started watching darts (yes, it happened) there where just a few tournaments every year. Now they just spam the calendar year round with shitty jobber tournaments.

I just try to follow the majors and skip the rest. Don't have the time or the patience anymore.
