It'll at least be fresh as the PDC is so repetitive now for me with so many broadcasted tournaments and the same faces over and over. The price of success I spose. I do like that most of the old guard who stunk out the original Lakeside for years seem to be pretty much all gone.
Snip.

I found that last year's event was watchable in small doses.

But watching every session over the 9 days? Yeah fuck that.
It gets better as the event goes on. There are some jobbers early doors

Last 8 and 16 are probably the best rounds.

Early rounds are very poor quality overall.

Semi and final the players struggle with the longer format.

Didn't they say they are still hoping to bundle up the final 3 days for an actual TV channel? That's quite interesting as many have said many times that it would make for a quite cheerful long weekend. Maybe a proper broadcaster out there is thinking exactly that.

Anyone would struggle with the pressure of potentially being the official world champion

I believe it may be what the TV Channels are looking for 3 days of coverage. Which maybe food for thought for WDF

Selling at the same pedestrian rate as before - up to about 4400 now. I think it will only pick up when the line-up and daily programme is confirmed. They sold nearly a third of the tickets after the tournament started last year.

Actually it has picked up a bit, over 4500, with the mens prize fund now more or less covered by ticket sales.
