Not sure how it works in the uk but the disability is a little better money than the dole in ireland.
You get lower rent , phone allowance, and are permitted to work 18 hours per week and not lose a single penny in benifits

I finished my job on Tuesday mate, similar situation, didn't know when i'd get a job again, but start again tomorrow, had another offer on Friday and I've got an interview for job on Thursday too, so think positive. I got quality time with my boys this week.

not a decision made lightly but i just cant do 13 hour days all the time.
