Were Jonny Clayton's TV Title Wins Overrated?

Sorry to offend anybody who loves Jonny Clayton, I like him and he's a great player. However, I feel he's overrated.

Only one of his TV titles was a ranking tournament, even that was during Covid 19. Most of his TV tournament wins came during Covid 19 with no crowds. I do not feel that he would have won these in regular conditions, although it's a possibility.

He started to win his TV titles when the crowds disappeared, I do not think that is a coincidence. Before then his world ranking was cemented through floor wins. He was a floor warrior who had the odd good TV run, no different to Mark Walsh and the like.

Does anybody else feel he's overrated due to TV wins during the pandemic? Or is this a case of me being a fool?

I dont think so. He is at that level where he is a threat to win at any of the majors but usually doesnt. He was superb during his winning spell

He won the Grand Prix, a week long major with a crowd the entire time. Beat Price 5-1 in the final and hit 170 and 164 finishes in back to back legs.

Won the PL, okay no crowd for a lot of it but there was one for the final week. Also had to win a play-off before the play-offs which everyone forgets.

Topped the PL league phase last year over 4 months of play and still holds the PL points record.

Won two Euro Tours over a 5 year period, showing longevity.

Games against Keane Barry and Michael Smith are all time World Championship classics.

Hit 91% of his doubles in a 19 leg game enroute to winning his first tv event.

Two TV nine darters across two years.

Won the World Series Finals in 2021 (in front of a crowd in Amsterdam) with an eye infection the whole weekend where his eye was swollen to fuck.

Reached a ranking tv final with his C game at the PCFs at Butlins in 2017 when he was a meddling jobber and has literally not had a year of decline yet.

If anything he's underrated by every pundit ever (except his mate Webby), especially Mardle who roots against him in almost every game.
