It would cost very little to trace an IP Gaz and I doubt calling people cunts is what this is about. False allegations, slander and defamation of character would be more likely to be followed up.

depends on what you class as a troll.
Emailing lords and well to do people is obviously gonna get you in trouble as these cunts have resources and it will be classed as harrassment .

The word troll is bandied around far too much that call people a mere name now constitutes trolling.
Some people not only deserve abuse but are too thick as to ask why they get it in the first place.

This isn't about forum spats as much as people being wrongly called rapists, Wallys etc. Bear in mind darts is a small community and many players are abused by faceless keyboard warriors, now they'll get the chance to find out who these faces are.

Thing is if I for example were to use the word rapist against say Taylor, how far would taylor take it ?
would he want the words of some guy on a forum being highlighted in open court and dragging up his sexual record.

I agree that calling people paedo.s is wrong but when certain members make certain comments like pep did about innocent kids there will not be much sympathy for scum like that.

Its not like people just decided to call someone a rapist or paedo for no reason.

Were you to call Taylor a rapist it would be slander pure and simple, also not acceptable here. Would his connections trace you I don't know, possibly, possibly not.

The Pep scenario is totally different as he is one of those faceless trolls this legislation is about.

thing is we hear all this bullshit and sucking up and how we should only say on the net what we would only say in person.

The sentiment of that sounds good but its total rubbish.
For starters if a player plays shit , we on a forum have every right to say player x played shit, that dont mean we would walk up and tell him to his face he was shit either but on a forum criticism and home truth are expected.
As for calling other members names or abusing people, I can assure you anything I say to people on here would say to their face.Anyone that knows me knows that to be 100% true if
I was confronted about my comments.
If I was at an event i would not approach a player say like adams and call him spineless as that is only looking for trouble but if he approached me and asked if I made the comment I would have no problem repeating it and standing by my comments.
I cannot speak for others but I personally stand by anything I say, be it on the net or in real life.( maybe thats why my employment history has not been great recently )

I think nobody has a problem with criticism relating to a players performance, behaviour both on and off the oche or things that they say. Criticism however doesn't have to be laced with vitriol or abuse. In fact the less vitriol and abuse the more valid the critical point being made.

Taylor has gotten some severe bashing and been accused of things worse than his criminal record suggests.A lot of people wont have sympathy for him due to his past anyway.
Is calling some one a fat cunt really that wrong if they are indeed fat and act like a cunt.

Take TSoD, they ass kissing on there and hope that players post is so bad that members would be quickly banned if they thought banning a member would lead to a player posting.Look at the uproar when I made the comment "I hope pipe losing first round in the world championships". It was the catalyst for a 3 month ban, others than spoke out how boring and slow also got banned.
some people are far too precious and have such a shit personal life with no friends to thin skinned that the internet is their only friend.

some peoples wholelife revolves around facebook and forums and take what they read from a stranger as personal, some even kill themselves over comments.
I think people like that wont be missed if the top themselves due to bullying.They can turn of the computer if they find it that bad

Yes, some have gone way too far on Taylor and I'll add Adams and Hankey as well.

You also have to bear in mind that each forum sits in a different place, what's acceptable on one may not be acceptable on another. That's just how it is. Each also has it's place and purpose

I know for a fact any mention of taylor being a rapist is forbidden on here.As you say each forum can run their own accordingly.
I am no defender of taylor when it comes to his criminal record, but do accept elsewhere it really has got to ridiculous levels.
As for Hankey and adams, i dont think they get any real unjust slating on here either.
Yes a lot of people dont like hankey, hope he loses, call him fat, greasey etc and I am a hankey fan and I will admit its hardly tantamount to over abuse.Same with spineless.
The term spineless is hardly on a par with rapist and the name is well deserved.
