Yeah there appears to be a rule that they can do both. Don't know if it's official yet

Re: Gun to your head - Pick 8 WDF players for the 2023 Grand Slam
I think there could be value in adding some players that don't usually play in PDC events. I don't think some of these players are less interesting than the randomers who will be getting through the tour card qualifier. 8 spots is way too much but I would like if the PDC gave 2 or 4 spots to WDF.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:47 pmPerfect comment.
They would add nothing to the event beside giving some of us a giggle.

Raymond Smith and Littler are the only ones at this current moment I think could comfortably compete with the PDC boys

Sigh. Firstly, we already get to see your beloved amateurs in PDC TV events. The Thorn wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 10:12 pm I think there could be value in adding some players that don't usually play in PDC events. Littler and Klaasen were in the UK Open.
Greaves was at Ally Pally.
Tricole and Kovacs will be in the World Cup.
Last year's Pool C had Rafferty, Gates, Williams and Gawlas, all of whom are either just as interesting as the WDF's top players or just as skilled. It also had Sherrock and Ashton in it, and it's probable that Greaves will take one of their spots this year. Greaves is literally the only WDF player who would create a bit of buzz. Perhaps you could also argue for Littler, but he might get in anyway.
Thus, there is no real argument for adding the WDF players other than some odd demand for the PDC to acknowledge the WDF's existence. Do you seriously think there is any value to adding Neil Duff and James Hurrell outside of giving us a laugh? Barely anyone knows who they are. They won't add more than say Ted Evetts or some randomer in the bottom rungs of the PDC system.
