Not for one second suggesting he would have gone on to win the thing, but...what if he'd beaten Barney at the Circus in 2006/07?

For one Barney fans would be a lot less annoying as their man would have no world championship wins!

Probably a Taylor vs. Lloyd final.

The previous year's loss to Gary Welding must haunt Lloyd even worse, especially given how brilliant Lloyd had played in the first 2 sets. And at the time, Lloyd had been playing with a confident swagger, being the reigning World Matchplay champion, the world number 1 because of his excellent floor form while playing all the floor tournaments etc., On the negative side for Lloyd, Taylor had taken Lloyd's World Grand Prix crown with a 7-1 thrashing in the 2005 final.

Ultimately a big dotty lad, maybe in the Jocky mould. He seemed very passionate and determined in the short time that he held God's guiding hand.

It was not exactly a Bristow>Taylor dynasty but two good guys. I liked Lloydy.

Happily he peaked at the right time to mop up a couple of Taylor disasters and he seemed like a floor beast which helped.

He was Deta's boyfriend too!

Hawaii 501 was a nemesis for Lloyd at the World Championship. In 2004, Lloyd led 3-1 in sets in the last 16, only to lose something like 9 out of 10 legs. In 2005, Lloyd lost a sudden death leg in the quarter finals.

He's overrated.

When he was #1, that was overrated.

Lloydy!

My mate from Twitter, good guy and a great, under-respected player of his era. 100% underrated these days, he's never mentioned by any pundits despite winning two proper majors and being World #1 in 3 different years
Image

Barney's chief slave. Also severely addicted to The Ferret.

An ultimate jamboree of Lord Hobo-loving, Sexy Joyce worshipping, Smudger smearing, Goldfingering, Beautiful Biscuit bonanza.

Not as my forum persona  but I got talking to Lloyd a few years back when he followed me, he's incredibly sound
