Not sure if it counts, but I remember watching the 2018 BDO Youth final with Justin van Tergouw and Killian Heffernan. Some monster finishes were exchanged in that match. Van Tergouw's performance in the match was right up there with the best performances of the men's tournament that year.

Lakeside when Duzza played Crocodile Dundee. We were sat in the posh seats upstairs. Duzza was pretty rancid that night. Hogan missed match darts to win 3-0 sets?
Duzza got on a roll and steam rollered to victory. From my vantage point I could see his manager down the front living every moment. We went and chatted to Mac. He was absolutely buzzing.
Will have to check the results history to dig out some earlier memories from decades gone by.

Friday 19th May 2023 - Finally free of the bull shitting no mark of a dart player.
Suspect team: CT1 Filip Sebesta - Greg Ritchie - Jeroen Mioch - CT2 Sean Fisher - Charlie Martin - CT3 Owen Bates - CT4 Thibault Tricole

Justin van Tergouw as a kid was a very special talent. To use a Mardleism, he has regressed. Hope he turns in around. Then again the talent pool of youngsters is insanely high.vizIIsto wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:12 am Not sure if it counts, but I remember watching the 2018 BDO Youth final with Justin van Tergouw and Killian Heffernan. Just rewatched that final. It really was as good as I remembered it to be. Probably the best match I've ever seen without a 180.Suspect Device wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:33 amJustin van Tergouw as a kid was a very special talent. To use a Mardleism, he has regressed. I remember that. JvT looked the business. Pity it hasn't worked out for him (yet?).vizIIsto wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:12 am Not sure if it counts, but I remember watching the 2018 BDO Youth final with Justin van Tergouw and Killian Heffernan. Here's all the BDO youff finals according to wiki. So Girvan has lost in BDO and PDC youth finals.

Good lineups. Roelofs v Ward in 2015 is one for the darts enthusiasts. Ward ended up winning a tour card, winning a Pro Tour event, then disappeared without a trace.Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 2:28 pmI remember that. JvT looked the business. I'm not sure Colin Roelofs is still active. Not on the PDC tours currently. But his younger brother Owen seems to be doing well. Ranked 18th on DT and 37th on CT. And he's only about 20 years of age.

Good show Thorny.
A mention for Josh Richardson, son of Poppy. He sent the mushrooms spiralling by saying he was off to the PDC while this trophy was still warm from his hot hands. Lol.

Re: Your odd World Championship memories that no-one else remembers
The 2017 PDC event being very predictable with 3/4 quarters being all Top 16 seeds in the Last 16.
The bottom half extended it even further, with seeds #2, #3, #6 and #7 making the QF's, and #2 beating #3 in the SF.

Although the first PDC game I recall loving was the Priestley vs Manley semi-final in the same tournament.
Cracking game.

Re: Your odd World Championship memories that no-one else remembers
I saw nothing of the 2000 Worlds as our Sky dish was cacked up or something.
So the first whole Worlds game I saw must have beeen something from the 2001 edition. I'll check the schedule and see if I can work it out ok thanks
