I can remember James Wade playing Asada from Japan and rather out of character, Wade screamed at Asada and then did an interview that was slightly controversial, nobody remembers it though.

In the 2006 World Championship, second favourite Colin Lloyd batters Gary Welding for 2 sets averaging something like 107. Welding responds with a dominant set of his own and it seemed to spook Lloyd. It then became a grindfest, and Welding pulled out the 3-2 win.
