World Championship Seeds in the 'Last 64' Era: 2006-2023

It should be clear what's going on here.

A yellow box means they won that edition.

The return of Barney as a seed is absolutely disgusting. Hopefully Price does for him in the L32, before then quickly losing in the L16.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Ex-seeds returning to the seeds is very much the exception to the rule. I see only a few. Once you drop you usually stay dropped. It's nasty.

Having said that, there's 5 such players in this year's field: MVG, Dolan, Vinny, Kim and Barney. They've been having fun clearly.

+1

Hopefully Headshaker doesn't make any more progress.

There's a funny sequence since 2019 where that change rate is reducing: 7-6-5-4.

Bunting's PDC career has not lived up to expectations.

He was billed as a potential top 5 player when he switched, yet he's never entered the worlds lower than 16th in the rankings.

He'll be back. Too early to write off The Wizard.

Bunting deserves respect for a great BDO career and a fairly good PDC career.

I will take no further questions on this matter.

Seriously, he was and still is a very good player, but we can't just ignore that he hasn't lived up to expectations in the PDC.

Randall's concerns were valid back in 2014:

fandarts wrote:close game , all on the day, mvg a slight favourite in my book , probably would win 6 times out of 10
how bunting would react to taylor, mvg.lewis etc chucking the kitchen sink at him we dont know yet.
Randall wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2014 7:11 pm i still think its premature to put him in the top 5 in the world.

if he isnt switching we will never know how he would fair against the best week in week out.

have a big target on his back if he plays the open this year.
