Re: Glenn Moody (Underrated Players #6)
Looked as if he was having the time of his life the year he qualified for the Lakeside, playing with a smile on his face and letting out a "Wazza" every now and then.
De Ruiter, who he beat in the first round, was particularly poor from what I remember, with an incredibly uncomfortable looking throwing style.

Think that was the year he decided to quit darts and went on to run the NDF.

+1 on his walk on song. The Thorn wrote:"Although never likely to win the tournament, Moody was still a surprise hit with the Lakeside fans. Entering the stage to the strains of Bronski Beat's camp disco song 'Hit That Perfect Beat' whilst wobbling his skinny legs. Moody caused an instant reaction. His skinny frame, crooked teeth and permanent grin, provided one of the most surreal and entertaining moments in sport. Most of the crowd caught into 'Moody Mania' by chanting his surname when he won a leg, which was started by a group of friends. Soon afterwards, the whole crowd joined in."

The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.
