Wire is not part of any scoring segment though. I think if a dart pierced the wire inbetween 2 segments you wouldn't get points. Pretty sure this has been discussed in the past and referees confirmed on twitter

The two pertinent rules in the Darts Regulatory Rule Book are 5.4.1 and 5.5.8:

5.4.1 A dart shall only score if the tip of the dart remains in or touches the face of the dartboard within the outer double wire and, having been “called”, is retrieved from the face of the dartboard by the Player throwing that dart.

5.5.8 All the wires forming the doubles and trebles segments, inner and outer centre rings which together form the “Spider”, shall be affixed to the face of the dartboard in such a manner that they lie flat on the face of the dartboard and feature no gaps or splits.

The first rule defines a scoring dart as being in or touching the face of the board; the second rule defines the wires as being affixed to, and therefore separate from, the face. Therefore, a dart stuck in the wire is not touching the face and does not score.
