The EPL run in, race for the title.

Post by Dartfrog » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:50 am

10 Games to go and it's looking like going down to the wire, shock result for City yesterday and United have finally come out on top for a weekend for the first time in a while.

Mancini believes yesterdays result isn't that important and the title will decided when the two teams meet at the Etihad Stadium but the run in for City looks alot harder with them still to face the likes of Chelsea(H), Arsenal(A) and Newcastle(A) whilst United's run in on paper only seems to pose the away City game as a real threat.

How many points do you think will both teams drop and who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Man Utd Man City

Wolves (a) 18/21 Mar Chelsea (h)
Fulham (h) 26/24 Mar Stoke (a) Blackburn (a) 2 Apr/31 Sunderland (h)
QPR (h) 8 Apr Arsenal (a)
Wigan (a) 11 Apr West Brom (h)
Aston Villa (h) 15/14 Apr Norwich (a)
Everton (h) 22 Apr Wolves(a)
Man City (a) 30 Apr Man Utd (h)
Swansea (h) 6 May Newcastle (a)
Sun'land (a) 13 May QPR (h)

Mancini is talking out of his arse, his team is falling apart at the seams and he knows it.

Strikers are no longer scoring goals and Tevez could either make or break their season.

I am struggling to see where United will lose another point compared to City.

The league could have a completely different look after the next 4 games.

Will be interesting to see both teams reactions to the change in circumstance at the top of the league next week. United play wolves first with the chance to go 4 points clear, & city don't play until the following Wednesday, meaning they have a nice wee break.

Interesting to see that City have the opportunity to play their match a day/days before United compared to only 1 vice versa.

A win for City in each one of those would heap even more pressure on the nervy champions.

It's the time of season for steady nerves. What city do wont affect them until after United play.

Last thing I would call united at the moment is nervy though. Composed throughout yesterday.

If it goes down to the last game of the season it could be extremely exciting as other than the away City game going to Sunderland away on the final day is the other danger fixture i would have picked out for United.

Only watched the highlights show last on BBC, what a lot of shite that was with those daft cartoons and that whiny unfunny presenter Murray.

United have a history of not making it easy for themselves, more often than not they come out smelling of roses though.

Even though De Gea has improved dramatically since Christmas can see him getting a little twitchy. Is he now the nailed on No.1 at Old Trafford?

Oh, big Dave is secure in his number one spot. Getting a settled back line in front of him has helped no end, as his his continuing improvement in English.

I thought your lot played very well oche, until Olson lost his discipline. WBA played better football than Liverpool did at OT this year.

Yesterday was a surprise re City losing, I expected them to coast that and am sure that result spoilt many football bets. Utd have been there time and time again and if Fergie knows anything it's how to close out a season, City are virgins in that respect.

Added to that the run in and Utd do have what looks to be the easier on paper, leagues and matches aint won on paper though and Utd have slipped up a few times already this season. The question is will they slip up again?

If they don't they only need a point from the City game to be home and dry, theirs to lose.

City will not go 10 games without dropping a point, IMO United could lose the derby and still win the league.

Can see both dropping points, united because they tend to have the odd shit game and City because they have some really tricky ties to face.

A lot will depend on the two sides progress in Europe also. Should one progress & not the other, it could tip the balance further.

Can see it being the end of the road for both clubs in Europe, if not is it better to remain in the comp or be knocked out?

We were ok in the first 30 mins, but we were not allowed to do anything after that, i expected us to lose and was relieved that when Olsson was sent off we only lost 2-0

you did well the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, but Fortune was very isolated even then.
