bad night

Post by Grazer » Tue Aug 16, 2011 11:36 pm

Team lost 6-3, I lost 3-1, played poorly, even practice didn't go well, not a good night. Oh well, on holiday for a week after tomorrow. Hopefully re-charge :)

Good man, how did you play?
Steady overall. Singles hit 4 ton plus scores, couple of poor scores but a lot of 60's and 80's. Similar in the pairs.

Unless your average is over 85 i'd be happy with hitting one treble and 80's all the time.

First game for over 2 weeks (and no practice either) went reasonably ok. It was 7 a side knockout and we were already 5-0 up by the time I played so it didn't matter. Lost 2-0 (401) just couldn't buy a double.

Had a mini tournament afterwards and I was appalling. Just trying too hard. It's all psychological at the moment and I have no idea how to solve it......

Oh well, try again tomorrow.

Team won 7-2, I won my singles 2-1, pairs 2-0. Bit shaky in the singles but very happy with my performance in the pairs. 2nd leg went 125, 125, 100 and took tops out first dart (c/o 64 in 2 in the first leg as well)

Can't ask for much better than that Grazer, always pleasing when it's a clean sweep of W's.

Team won 5-4, I won the decider 3-1 :) It was a roller coaster, we won the pairs 2-1 then lost the first 3 singles to go 4-2 down but we took the next 3 to possibly save ourselves from relegation

Best thing you'll ever do, best people in the World are darts people.
yeah i just hope the team doesnt split up....iv heard when darts people split there can be a bit of bitterness??? haha..... really looking forward to it though in all seriousness only been playing for just under two years and i love it, especially now im only good for 5 a side footy.

Playing 2 minutes after you've had a row with the girlfriend does not make good dart throwing

Very bad night tonight. Just in after losing 11-4 in a game where we were down to a double first in most games against our opponents. In the singles Mikie, John and I all had at least a couple of darts at a double before our opponents got a chance. Fair dues to the lads they finished the games sharpish once they got a chance.

Same trend carried into the doubles with John and Gary losing 3 zip even though they missed 5 darts to finish in their second leg. Next up were Mikie and Barney who managed to lose all three legs aswell even though they missed at least 3-5 darts at a double in 2 of the said legs before their opponents got down to a finish. Next up were Jeff and I. We managed to lose the first leg after missing at least 8-9 darts at the double. Have to say it was my fault leaving double 1, before that I missed double 16 for a 94 finish. Second leg I hit a 180 and then went on to follow it up with 11 ffs. Jeff checked out on double 8 I think it was. Third leg we left our opponents with over 150 on the board with me checking out on double 2.

Have to say a little disappointed in losing by such a margin in a game we could have won.
Ah well back to the practice board even though I think this loss will see us out for another year.
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'

Just one of those double trouble nights that can happen to anyone, everyone needs them to keep them on their toes and not get complacent.
I'm sure you'll all be sharper at finishing next time.

Of course if your doubles doesn't improve next time it's all over, chuck the darts in the bin.
You know that funny way people are looking at you in the pub? well it's not just because of your bowl cut and six fingers it's because they are disgusted at your finishing on doubles.
They've been whispering about how you've been washed up for years now and now your proving it by unravelling right before their eyes.
Your a disgrace to the pub and your local area and before long there's going to be a petition to get you rehoused in another part of the country because your done.

Now that the effects of the alcohol have worn off the shame of last nights diabolical performance is impalpable. I am now only allowed out of the house with the appropriate head gear.

The shame.
