Price or Wright?
If both players ended their darting careers now. Who would go down as the better player?
For me it would be Price.
Got to world number 1
Won more Premier events 5-4
His Premier events overall top trump Wrights in terms of prestige.

In other words, Wadey is better than both of them combined.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 12:30 am If both players ended their darting careers now. Who would go down as the better player?

Re: Price or Wright?
Both have a world's, yet I'll take 2 Slams and a Grand Prix over a Euro, Master's, and UK

Re: Price or Wright?
Interesting one. If I dig out the seeds chart thingy we'll have a look at their ranking history which could help. Wright's elite level longevity at this point must be highly unusual.

Re: Price or Wright?
Wright for me
In his worlds he beat Price and MVG in front of a crowd.
Lice on the other hand won his Grand Prix and didn't play a single top 8 player and his worlds wasn't much better with Anderson at 8 being his highest opponent. If Lice can win them again by beating elite players fair enough but until he has Wright is the better player. This is justified by the fact Lice's record vs Wright and MVG is pretty embarrassing aswell.

Re: Price or Wright?
Lots of factors to consider but I don't like to complicate.
Their premier title hauls are broadly similar.
Wright's longevity gives him the upper hand for me. He was in a World Final before Price even had a tour card and has admirably sustained that sort of level ever since.
Wright..... Worlds, UK Open, Euros, Masters (4)
Price....... Worlds, Grand Prix, Grand Slam x2, WS Finals (5)

Re: Price or Wright?
I would probably say Wright just because of the longevity as well. If it was just about the trophy haul you could reasonably put Cross near them too, but you wouldn't do that. For all we know, Price might yet pull a Cross and disappear completely. Very unlikely but we can't take it for granted that it won't happen. I think it's likely that Price will eventually overtake Krusty on the all time list, but at this point in time, the clown edges it.

Re: Price or Wright?
Wright because I’m biased and Price is a wanker.
Edit: Wright beat Price comfortably for 3 out of the 4 “Premier Events” he’s won too.

Re: Price or Wright?
I agree with SAFC that everything won in covid era is somehow of a less value.
Beside, Wright was tortured by MvG at his peek. He had to wait for MvG to slow down a bit to win WC. He could have won much more without ùberbaldfish.
Price's version of MvG is nowhere near that level.
So, Wright for me.
