PDC between 1995-2006 was Taylor dominated as he had no competition aside from Part who was inconsistent at a World Championship level at least. Barney turned up in Feb 2006, And it was a different story, Taylor had spells of dominance but he won 3 world titles since then, Suggesting that it would have been tougher in a more unified field for him but he possibly would have won more then most.

The Taylor of the 2010s was nowhere near the same beast as the Taylor of the mid-90s to early 2000s. Barney was fortunate that his switch to the PDC coincided with Taylor's 18 month dip of form between mid 2006 and 2008. Even during that period, Taylor beat Headshaker more often than not. Taylor was as dominant as ever between 2008-2010.

Taylor smashed Burnett in 97 and it would have been the same had the met over a long distance format in 1995.

Before this week, I acknowledged Plastic talking utter shite. But I didn't find him really deeply irritating in comms. His nonsensical references to pop culture are weird and cringe but not as annoying as something else I, and I'm sure everyone else, has picked up on.

I feel like it's EVERY SINGLE GAME he mentions "I reached stage X of this event", "I've won this and that", "X beat me that weekend, he had to play well to beat me". It's not as if he talks that often about the PCFs he won, a genuinely great achievement. It's just relentless "look at me, I won a floor event in a weird country".

His arrogant boasting over relatively moderate success is getting very, very annoying. He was a solid top 32 player, peaking at a top 16 floater. Nothing more than Vincent or Steve Beaton in the PDC (except the tv win of course).

Good but nothing truly special, like he would lead you to believe.
