2018 Unibet Masters
So Masters coming up next for Uncle Baz's gaff. Probably the least significant TV event of the year. Anyway it'll be good to see proper darts after the misery that is Lakeshite.
There's the draw, any thoughts?
After Cross' rise to 3rd, MVG and Gando are now in the same side of the bracket in majors. Makes it a bit more interesting.
(1) Michael van Gerwen – (16) Kim Huybrechts
(8) Simon Whitlock – (9) James Wade
(4) Gary Anderson – (13) Benito van de Pas
(5) Daryl Gurney – (12) Gerwyn Price
(2) Peter Wright – (15) Alan Norris
(7) Dave Chisnall – (10) Raymond van Barneveld
(3) Rob Cross – (14) Ian White
(6) Mensur Suljovic – (11) Michael Smith

MvG basically has a bye to the semis then. Quite a lot of dead wood in the top 16 still, I expect next year there'll be much change

This event will be used for the tiebreaker

Yeah never really got the Masters. Literally every other event has some kind of meaning or strategic interest, there is very little in this tournament that doesn't exist in the others

Twill be good to hear Cross introduced as the newly crowned champion of the worrrrrrrld... but even better on PL opening night when he plays former 2-time champion of the world MVG in Dublin, chuckle.Randall wrote:Last night seems a long time ago already.Sensur Muljovic wrote:Looking forward to it. Have they said they are playing on night 1 or you're just assuming they will?Rogg wrote:Twill be good to hear Cross introduced as the newly crowned champion of the worrrrrrrld... but even better on PL opening night when he plays former 2-time champion of the world MVG in Dublin, chuckle.Randall wrote:Last night seems a long time ago already.Sensur Muljovic wrote:Looking forward to it. It's good business to put them together night one, so it will happen.

Re: 2018 Unibet Masters
It's the must see match now, course they are gonna put it on first.
Personally I'd rather they wait a bit. I used to like seeing the big PL matches a bit later, and built towards. The early Taylor and Barney days they used to let them dispatch a few others and build anticipation to the match, now they just spunk it on night one.
Can do without the ridiculous countdown clock they had though.

Kim may get saved by hardly getting down to a double.
