Yep. Teenage MvG needs d12 to win 3-1. Stands back. Takes his time. Disaster. Taylor almost lost to everyone he played in that one before MARDLE finally flushed it.

I remember it being tense more than shit.
Ah Rands. Back when you could actually watch a game of darts without fretting about strangling infants and pomps.

Apparently Jenkins vs Mann in 2006 was pretty high-standard. 99 plays 94. Jenkins hit 144 and 140 checkouts, Mann hit 170 and 161 checkouts.
The match is on YouTube in three parts.

French vs Nagakawa is obviously a favorite.

Kevin McDine apparently twisted his knee while being 2-0 down to Dennis Priestley (94 avg) in 2010 before turning it around with a 99 average.

Whitlock in his 2010 run beat Osborne in the first round with a 101 average (vs Osborne's 97) and 73% on the doubles. 7 ton-plus checkouts too.

Andy Hamilton coming back twice to defeat Alcinas who averaged 99. Missed a dart at D18 for a nine.

Borland v Brooks has to be up there. It was a good close game even before the 9 to win it

I see this match has been mentioned already, but this 132 still sends chills down my spine:

Gurney vs MacKenzie in 2015 is probably the best preliminary match as he came from 3-0 down to win 4-3.
I know Cadby averaged higher in 2017 but he faced no opposition in our lad Sun Qiang.

Chisnall vs Rowby-John in 2017. 16 180's. Chisnall took the deciding set in 11, 15, 11 with finishes of 90, 117, 96.

Kist averaging over 100 and not having a chance against a rampant MvG in 2018 who averaged 106.

(95.54) Cristo Reyes 3-2 Dimitri Van den Bergh (99.11) -- Both brilliant. Reyes 12/19 on doubles. Dimitri 9 180s and did little wrong.

(94.46) Darren Webster 3-2 Stephen Bunting (91.02) -- Bunter binned 7 match darts. Unreal Webster surge and won the tie-break.
Bunting and Van den Bergh would meet in the first round of the next year where Dimi averaged 104 in defeating Bunting's 98 average and a 170 finish.

A classic. There's a gif of it on page 1 for some reason.
