PDC Challenge/Development Tour and JDC Advanced/Foundation Tour 2021

Things will be starting up again soon on these fronts, and some strange news concerning the JDC so heres this thread.

JDC news is this: https://www.pdc.tv/news/2021/05/21/jdc- ... anced-tour

There will be two JDC tours. The Advanced Tour for the world youths and the Foundation Tour for those who dont get through adv tour Qschool or did not play at QSchool (yes there is a JDC Qschool now  ).

There doesnt seem to be any possibility to get to the world youths from the foundation tour, unlike the challenge tour having a worlds place on offer. There are cards for next years advanced tour for the best in the foundation tour for what thats worth.

Personally i think this is far too much bloat for what the JDC is currently. QSchool and a secondary tour seems far too much at the moment. Also the foundation tour having no places for the world youths seems a really poor move.

JDC QSchool happens this weekend and is followable on DCTV.

The first challenge tour event is on July 2nd, dev tour August 20th and JDC proper event June 19th.

QSchool entry list is here https://tv.dartconnect.com/eventplayers/jdcqs21e01

A handful of people we already know such as RJR the youngest, Nathan Care and the wee shite himself Leighton Bennett. Beau Greaves did not enter.

There are also a few people with some interesting names such as a Gurney, a Clayton, another Adam Gawlas (wtf??), and an Eccles ( :? ). No idea if any have any relation.

Plenty of funny names to be found also. Im sure we will all be cheering Mason Lakey on, and wishing every good fortune for ., Anadh

The 21 who get a freebie into the adv tour (apparently the top of the jdc 2020 order of merit) are:

NATHAN CARE
LEIGHTON BENNETT
HENRY COATES
IEUAN HALSALL
JACK BARROWS
CHARLIE LARGE
HARRY GREGORY
LUKE LITTLER
GEORGE RIPLEY
JASON MEEK
LEWIS MAYES
ASHLEY MARSON
ADAM DEE
KIERAN THOMPSON
MAISON WILSON
OLIVER MALE
CALLUM BEDDOW
BEN GAMBLE
CHARLIE MANBY
ALFIE GALLOWAY
BEN CARR

However the oom cant be found to confirm that and much of the relevent info is a jumbled mess. This is because the JDC is run by Steve Brown, who is a pathetic sack of crap.

This is too much, too soon. Why complicate a tour for 14 year olds? A Worlds spot for the winner of the old JDC tour seemed the next logical step.

On an alarming note, I believe next year is when Leighton Bennett will finally be eligible for big boy Q-school. Would be hilarious to see him beat The Queef Williams only to be whitewashed by Colin Osborne and co.

JDC is 8-18 years. Dev Tour is 16-23. JDC isn't run by the PDC but they are cooperating. It's basically the step before the Dev Tour.

The JDC is a separate thing from the PDC run by the tosser Steve Brown. It is aimed at younger players and has its own youth championships. The age bracket meaning there cant be any pot bellied family having Luke Humphries winners.

The final is held at the world championships rather than the players championship finals where the PDC youth final is held.

The winners of todays events were Connor Hopkins and Mitchell Elliot Bailey. They both averaged 78 in their finals. There was one avg of 80+ over the day and there were a pair of 34.5 avgs who played each other in the L32.

I like the idea but think the way it is structured now way too much overlap. It was stupid when you had tour card holders playing development tour and bearded baby daddy Humphries winning a youth event. Think the PDC need to drop the development tour age to a max of 20 and the min age of 14. This should be the JDC advanced tour and the Dev tour one thing no tour card holders.

The JDC Foundation tour 8 to 18 no tour card holders no Dev advanced tour players.

A player should not be allowed to play more than 3 years on both Dev and CT

Standard for the 2nd day was significantly worse, with a 59.4 avg good enough to win the final.

The 11 others who join the 21 posted above are:

Connor Hopkins
Tavis Dudeney
Mitchell Elliot Bailey
Jenson Walker

Ronnie Woodman
Archie Self
Thomas banks
Tinus Van Tiel
Cole Davey
Sean Mckeon
Jacob Hibbert

Although you wont find this on the JDC website as Steve Brown is a useless tit.

I think the upper age limit for the Dev Tour is fine. For what is a pub game there can and are a lot of late entrants to the sport in comparison to almost any other.

Plus the goal of it is to produce the highest standard of players possible to move on to the main tour and not to give a soft play area for teenagers.

Correct. Many players peak in their 50s so nothing wrong with that
