Ah but it did though and one prominent forum member got a bit upset about it. 🙂

I'd be pretty happy to expunge all titles won behind closed doors. They are certainly asterixed in my mind.

No, being flippant but I think the titles won during the time carry less weight and validity.

Nonsense
We had the argument at the time. I was firmly on the side of winners winning that wouldn't have usually won. First chance we get a bit of crowd back and the Matchplay champion goes from composed to wilting. Clayton made a good effort at it too.

Oh and both MVG and Wright immediately look more like their old selves.

It was obvious that the players outside the top 8 were going to be more on a level playing field, as they
may have choked in front of a capacity crowd against one of the big boys, but it was the top 3 that didn't step up when they needed to
in the behind closed doors events...

Of course there will always be that question mark over would they have won in front of a crowd, but they still went on to win it...
It is a very poor excuse from the top players to say that they didn't win because there was no crowd......

You can asterisk all you like, but their names are on the trophies, not MvG, Price or Crusty.......

The circumstances were different but they were the same for everyone. If the different circumstances resulted in some players being weaker, that's their own fault. It's possible that the results would have been different but you can't say that for certain

Certainly. Not definitive either way so all about opinion.

I just think the fact it was a two way swing, top players levels dropping and lesser achievers elevating, to meet in the middle is significant.

6-0 to Edhouse has got to be a new low...

He did average over 80 though (81.8)

Glen is on a 16 match losing streak, and he didn't even play series 3

76.97 only 1 dart at a double so basically purely scoring visits which is terrifying
