Mary really did have a little lamb

It's based on 11 year old mary Sawyer who was followed to school one day in the late 1860s in boston.

The 1956 Olympic host city was Melbourne

However due to its strict quarantine rules the equestrian events could not be held

These took place in Stockholm 5 months before the games

The French foreign legion is famed worldwide

Much of its legend began at the battle of Cameron in 1863
A unit of 65 legionnaires were confronted and surrounded up to 3000 Mexican troops.
The commander went to every man to get an assurance they would fight to the death.
As officers fell and lesser ranks took command they were repeatedly offered the chance to surrender
At the end the battle and with only 5 legionnaires left and no ammunition they mounted a bayonet charge.
Eventually the last 3 were physically taken prisoner
When the 3 were presented In Milan and the commander asked if these were the only men left of the command he replied " these are not men, they are demons"

Good fact that. 👍

I once bowled 9 maidens in a row. Got broken by a misfield. 😡
