What would you say is the difference between throwing a steel tip dart and a soft tip dart (assuming they have the same weight)?
I have an option to start practicing darts but only soft tips now. Will I use a different technique when throwing soft tip darts?

Not a big difference mate to be honest. The only difference is that the soft tip board will reject your darts sometimes. I'd definitely advise you to play steel tip but if that's your only chance now, go for it.

You can use soft tip darts on a steel tip board but you can't use steel tip darts on a soft tip board.

Multipoint darts....Years ago I used to use Harrow's Powerpoint darts, Just swapped the steel to soft tips as they just screw in.
