These are the players I feel people can make a case on why they are currently the best in the world:
Michael van Gerwen - #1 on the OoM and still is reigning UK Open champ
Gerwyn Price - Lost only once in his last 20 or so matches and has reached multiple "major" (whatever the definition) finals this year alone
Peter Wright - World Champion so obviously deserves a mention
Nathan Aspinall - Seen by most as a talent for the future and someone who has already proven to be a major threat to the world's best
Glen Durrant - Won the Premier League yesterday even though he played bollocks, 3 BDO titles for whoever cares about that
Wayne Warren - Is the 2020 BDO World Champ so needs a mention even though he's not the best in the world
Phil Taylor - According to some still the best in the world after his retirement, still plays demo's once every so often so they might be right
My pick is Gerwyn Price. Van Gerwen has gone out of form and Gezzy seems like the man to beat right now, although MvG is also the man to beat, which is nice to have two players right now who are about equally feared. The other three on this list (Aspinall Wright Duzza) have the same skills, but they feel inferior.
