Best ever Dart interviews after a game

Post by HalloweenJack » Sun Jul 26, 2020 9:47 am

What is your favourite ever darts interview?

Will it be one of Duzzas monologues
Wade after he beat Asada
Barney when he beat Bunting at the worlds

For me there is only one winner.

Wayne Mardle on Dutch tv not realising he is live after losing to Co Stompe.

I quite liked Menzies' on stage at a Euro Tour when he revealed that his "sphincter was pulsing". Not sure though.

The look on Wayne’s face at 1:13 when he realises he is live. Priceless

Pretty disrespectful if you ask me.
Lewis had one and Part didn't?
Barney had one (despite only winning it once) and Part didn't?

I think he was absolutely correct to be fair.

He beat Taylor in the final in 2003, only the second player to beat him in a final. (at the time)
Or did he not get one because he only beat Kirk Shepherd in 2008?
Poor old JP.

Poor old JP.
He probably just didn't fit in with skys promotional package at the time.
After the 7-0 raping in 01 his 03 triumph was remarkable, even if Taylor's level was way down.

Watched that game during lockdown (2003)
Maybe Taylor thought he'd trounce him again?
Still, great match that final

Taylor 03-07 was in large part darts by numbers

Painter and dudbridge ran him far closer than they should.

He seemed to get up for manley as he didnt like him and the cross code masters of darts where he had something to prove.

The 07 loss to barney was in hindsight probably the best thing to happen to him.

Imagine saying Painter was a World Champion. Grim.

Yes, the 07 loss to Barney was the kick up the arse he needed. He knew he wouldn't be able to just cruise in 3rd/4th gear all the time.

Two things gave Phil the kick up the backside he needed

1) Barney coming across from the BDO and beating him in that final
2) The emergence of Wade coming and winning a few titles.

Painter was the better player in that final and should have won.

I liked for comedy the Hendicks "I was like a fish on stage" interview at Ally Pally and Mardle and Dave Clark unable to stop laughing for a minute or two.

Taylor having a slump between 2003 and 2005 is a bit of a myth. He dominated Barney in head to head meetings in 2005. The games took place off TV, so few got to see them.
