Last year's thread is here, including round by round stats going back several years:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8287
^It also has the 2019 Lakeside stats. Cackle.

The special needs colour scheme.
Of the 32 Round 1 winners last year, only Humphries and Noppert averaged more than Klaasen did tonight.
Burness and Petersen both averaging 92+ in Round 1 defeats. Only four players in total did that last year.

Early days, but here's the first graph of the new championships. The preliminary round changed last year in the PDC, which is why the line is so small.

Obese young making a mockery of the averages there. At least Barney can tell friends and family that he comfortably had the higher average.

Where are our 100+ averages? This Worlds have been only a bit less shite compared to last year so far.

You're expecting a lot of 100+ averages in Round 1 are you?
There should be the usual trickle of them in Round 2. But seeds 1+2 didn't manage it.

There weren't any in the new first round last year, but 90+ averages are up so far

Just crudely rounding all the Round 1 (Last 96) averages so far and dividing, the round average is at 91.11.
That's very high. The more dubious Pro Tour qualifiers will surely piss on the cake in the coming days? The round was 87.09 (true) last year.
I would never even suggest a possibility of the Last 96 average here being higher than every single round of Fakeside 2020.

That's how I do mine. I don't have the info to be able to do accurate dart average so I just average the averages. I know it's not balls-on accurate (for example, you say it was 87.09 last year, the average of averages says it was 87.05) but as long as I apply the same principle to everything it's pretty indicative.
I've been doing this since 2006. I should get another hobby.

All we want is consistency
I got the 'true' averages for last year's event from TheRedBit on twitter. I'm sure he'll be posting this year's too:

Also
https://mobile.twitter.com/ochepedia and
https://mobile.twitter.com/CarlyFletch are excellent.

I do wonder if setting out the criteria from the start of the season is putting players more at ease? Myriads of jobbers found themselves nowhere last year, until all of a sudden they found they were in the Worlds, at least this year people had more of an idea of what they needed to do to qualify/keep their tour cards etc
