Still mad that Wade has won 6 but has no World Championship.

He had his chance in 2012, leading Lewis 5-1 and having a match dart for a 6-2 win, before losing 5-6. Hamilton was waiting in the final.

Curiously, 2012 is about the only year when Wade has been in good form at the World Championship. In other years, even when he's gone deep in the tournament, he's had to battle.

Remember it quite well, that semi final

Yes. It was a frustrating night.

Wadey's level really fell off a cliff once Lewis made it 3-5 with a 98 checkout (treble 20, double 19), with Wade not winning another leg. Lewis won the last 10 legs of the match. For the rest of the match after Lewis made it 3-5, I reckon Wade had only 4 darts at a double, and 3 of those were in one leg in the last set where he missed double 20 and double 10 (his favourite doubles) by a distance. There were plenty of legs in those last 3 sets where Wade's score was way behind, sometimes hundreds of points behind.

Even at 5-1 to Wade, Wade was battling against Lewis' rising darts form in that set and the next set (while Wade's own was declining slightly) just enough to have the 1 match dart in the eighth set, but he failed. It was odd because Wade was battering Lewis badly from 2-1 to 5-1, after the whole windgate controversy in sets 2 and 3.

Didn’t the match finish at like 1am?

Yeah, something like that. The first semi final between Hamilton and Whitlock was a long one, Hamilton winning 6-5. Wade and Lewis had a few delays with the whole windgate controversy in sets 2 and 3, one break of which must have been 20 minutes while they switched off the air conditioning and checked every door, but even then there was more wind from somewhere.

Once Wade vs. Lewis had finished, Lewis had to do his press conferences and then he had to do a drug test. He didn't get into bed until around 5:30am, and he had a final to play the following evening. It's perhaps no surprise that the final between Lewis and Hamilton was rather lacklustre as a spectacle, with Lewis briefly showing good checkouts at key moments of the final to win it 7-3.
