2019 PDC Challenge Tour
January 26-27: Challenge Tour 1-4
April 30-01: PDC Players Championship 13 & 14
May 11-12: Challenge Tour 5-8
I think that alone shows the importance of the first batch of Challenge Tour events at the end of the month. It's almost a Q-School sequel.
Huge incentives on this tour now and the field could be incredible.
We'll soon see how serious certain players are. Would Durrant and Waites do the CT if they fail Q-School? What you reckon?

I don't really like that scheduling, to be honest. Seems very unfortunate that a single CT weekend is gonna decide the fill-in players for half the Pro Tour season.

A cursory glance at Darts Database seems to indicate that this clashes with Eastern European ET qualifiers, like last year. Then again, it also says it clashes with the first three NB ET qualifiers, which have already been played

Darts Database also doesn't have the updated dates for CT 5-8, but you wouldn't put it past them to have a clash for some unlucky cunts

Watch out for young DImitri van den Bergh on the development tour. Don't let the receeding hairline and five o'clock shadow fool you, this young prospect could really pull up some trees this year and is even worth a shout each way at making the youth final later this year.

Actually he doesn't get his bus pass until next year, which makes him eligible on countback.

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge & Development Tours
Can't imagine them slogging thru CT. why would they? Not sure exactly what the rule is or will be for players doing CT and chasing BDO points. If it is the case they can't compete on the Pro Tour then they go full bore back to BDO as they will have a good start on those precious BDO points for 2020 or the winners invite back.
Better odds of them getting TV time via the BDO than slogging thru CT and trying to qualify the long way round for PDC events. Better odds they get into the PDC GSOD and the UK open via the BDO routes as well.

No surprise really, he pretty much gave the tour a pass last year too. Good for the Champ darts circuit if he shows up. Guessing he will spend some time messing with the soft shit and his game will go no where but in the shitter.

I'd be interested in seeing what Party does, first, is he going to Q-School, and secondly, in the likely event of failing to win a tour card, does he go back to North America to play the tour there? I mean, he's shot to shit, but it would be nice to see him get one more crack at the Worlds for old times' sake

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge & Development Tours
Players were allowed to play ProTour events as well as BDO events last year, though nobody who did anything major on the Challenge Tour played much in the BDOcannibal wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 11:35 pmCan't imagine them slogging thru CT. why would they? Re: 2019 PDC Challenge & Development Tours
I thought they had a limit or some restriction on BDO players who played PDC events. Pro Tour is the ET and the PC events. The CT and DT are not Pro Tour events.

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge & Development Tours
By 'anything major on the Challenge Tour', I mean a non-tour card holder who's been on the tour for most of the year. There was a lad who played on one of the final ProTour weekends who did the Lakeside qualifiers, though he'd hardly played much on the ProTour in 2018

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge & Development Tours
The new rules still include that one must be a member of the BDO or one of its associates in order to play a ranking event. So technically a PDC tour card holder could compete in ranking events. The PDC tho has a restriction on players who hold tour cards playing in others events TV or streamed, they have to get permission to be on the stream or TV for those. Still a murky proposition for any player that wants to play both codes, they are going to have to jump thru some hoops to be able to do it. I suspect the PDC isn't going to allow any PDC tour card holder to play in one of the BDO majors especially the Lakeside. No way in hell is the PDC allowing that.

In the past didn’t the BDO world champ get an automatic PDC tour card?cannibal wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 5:58 pm The new rules still include that one must be a member of the BDO or one of its associates in order to play a ranking event.
