It's still a very elite group of players, no mugs ever win this.
Priestley, Taylor, part, barney, Lewis, mvg and gando.
Who will be the next first time winner?
I've included a few probable, if your selection isn't included, who is it?

Well whoever it is, it will be someone who either failed on the Lakeside stage, never played on the Lakeside stage or took the easy life by running away from Adams...

Only 4 former winners from the next year and Barney/Lewis not done anything for ages.
For a top 3 I would say Cross, Gurney and Cadby

I considered kyle for the poll but only get so many options.
Cullen should do far better than he does.
There is inevitably going to be one, I'd have to favour Cadby, sadly.

In Oz recently he threw the odd good game but always came back with shit.
Over the long format he is always going to be caught out.

Voted for Smith out of those options, but doubt he will ever get it all together.
I would have voted for Krusty if it was an option. Providing someone else can beat MVG!

I was going to include Wright but again only so many options and he is such. Choking bastard I doubt he'd ever get over the line.
Smith has the game but not the attitude, that could change.

Probably Gurney but it might be a while as without Taylor after January I can't see anyone stopping MvG for a while sadly, he'll probably have equalled Bristow by the time there's a new winner.
