I like Eric Bristow a lot. For all his apparent arrogance, he always tells it like it is which people don't like.

people go on about how taylor made the pdc popular, and while sky promote him and he has dominated the sport brissy was the real guy to put darts on the map.Arrogant cocky and damn talented to boot.
Also while he was dominant he had other great players around him at the time more than capable of beating him in lowe, anderson jocky etc which created fantastic grudge battles.

I love watching his old games , pint in hand tobacco smoke everywhere and giving it large.Seems to have mellowed a lot in recent years but always up front and honest, just as bobby george was/is

Bobby is a lot more humble I think. Bristow is the only one on Sky who has the balls to say what he thinks of players.

bristow acknowledge the greatness of taylor, he spotted it before anyone else, and even he does not pull the hype crap that sky, sid, rod clarke and the others do.

just watched the full version again and really can't help thinking is was a real opportunity missed by both sides. So much common ground was swept aside at the whim of a few.

Had there not been all entrenched we could have now the same amount of darts on the box and one world champion. Cox and Croft have a lot to answer for

at least cox acknowledged the bdo, was involved in the attempt to buy out.

Olly on the other hand thought the game was his and his alone.
He could sit back on the expense account off the back of players.the same players he claimed he did not owe a living while he made one of them.

If that was not bad enough he not only could not help them with their living he went out of his way and illegally I might add in stopping those from making one for themselves and their families.

Good documentary .. Watched it a few times

I'm currently trying to translate that great documentary in french and I would need some help for these extracts :
@ 00:37 : "I could see my official allowing me to do that" : who are these "officials" ?
@ 00:45 : "just give xxx (Wayne ?)" : who is this "Wayne" ?
@ 21:20 : "if anybody asked even though it's a lad. you know what I mean when they say about lad, it's not just true by the way" : what does Mike Gregory mean here ?

@00:16 I suppose he is just talking about the other members of the governing board of the BDO, unless anyone wants to correct me on that.

@21:20 He is talking about Lada, the car manufacturer who sponsored the events he won. As the company is originally from the soviet union, the cars had a bad rep which Gregory is saying is not true.

@32:16 I think she said "I think I did call Ollie after", but maybe might have said "I think I did cry after", but its really tough for me to make out. I lean strongly to the first one though.

Being from Scotland ive been forced to get good at accents, but that bit there I was really struggling with.
