I thought they were supposed to arrange as many local fixtures as possible on Boxing Day?

Beats me why they didn't schedule you with Sunderland, or is that too easy?

Local, but not too local - policing issues and all that with local derbies at Xmas.

Although doesnt seem to stop the Scots...

The Police probably allowed it. The fixture complier manually does the Xmas fixtures as the computer has no conception of distance between grounds, hence why you get ridiculous matches like Arsenal at Newcastle in midweek in January. No local derbies will probably be a police request, these are also factored in. Loads of variables, this is a good read:

There should be a Local derby weekend though

Newcastle vs Sunderland
Man City vs Man United
Wigan vs Bolton
Albion vs Villa
Liverpool vs Everton
Arsenal vs Spurs
Chelsea vs Fulham
Stoke vs Wolves

It does leave 4 clubs without

QPR vs Norwich
Swansea vs Blackburn

Unless there is a better way of doing it

I am really looking forward to the trip to Norwich. last time I went, i am sure I could have got to the moon and back quicker!!

Away to Hibs then away to Aberdeen.

If we reach the Europa League group stages then our next league game is away from home 5 of the 6 games

It appears every home team on Boxing Day are at home on New Year's Eve as well. How's that fair?

That's odd. Surprised there weren't any complaints.
