Blew a huge chance to beat Taylor in the 1999 World Championship semi final, losing 3-5. Reached the last pre-split Embassy final in 1993, but played crap in the final itself.

Yes, that's probably true. Warriner wasn't as consistent as his pal Rod Harrington, and Phil Taylor being around and winning so much upset it for other very good players of the time.

Warriner was a bit of a mental midget. When the going got tough he more often than not got going, hence why he packed it in.
