PHIL TAYLOR and Adrian Lewis will swap the Treble 20 for the Friends Life Twenty20 on Monday when they attend Surrey Lions' clash with Essex Eagles at the Kia Oval.

Two lucky fans - one each supporting Surrey Lions and the Essex Eagles - will get the chance to team up with 15-time World Champion Taylor and current World Champion Lewis during the interval to play for a cash prize on the pitch!

Fans will also be able to meet the darting stars before the game in the Lambeth Hall beneath the iconic OCS Stand at the Kia Oval.

Fans attending the game will also be able to take part in a special challenge to win tickets to the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship before the T20 game begins on the night.

Surrey leg spinner Chris Schofield - a keen darts player who has scored a number of 14-dart finishes in Lancastrian pub leagues - said: "Twenty20 cricket at the Kia Oval always has a great atmosphere and inviting down a sporting legend like Phil Taylor will only improve that."

Lifted from Planet Darts:

PHIL TAYLOR and Adrian Lewis renewed their rivalry as part of a special darts challenge on the pitch at the Kia Oval during Monday's Surrey Lions v Essex Eagles Friends Life T20 game.

Taylor, the 15-time World Champion, and current Ladbrokes.com World Darts Champion Lewis were guests of Surrey CCC for the game, which was screened live on Sky Sports.

Having enjoyed some healthy battles on the oche recently, they went head-to-head alongside a supporter of each club for a special six-dart challenge.

Surrey fan Paul Jones was paired with Taylor, and Essex supporter Sarah Holmes linked up with Lewis for the challenge, which saw each person throw three darts each and the cumulative team total being declared the winner.

After all four received walk-ons onto the famous Oval turf, Sarah threw first, hitting 36, before Paul hit a score of six - leaving the professionals to do battle.

Lewis' first dart landed in one, but he then hit two treble 20s to score 121 for a team total of 157, and Taylor's unlucky bounce-out with his third dart saw Sarah and Adrian declared the winners.

Sarah won £154, which was the total score in pounds of Surrey's innings, while Paul's consolation prize saw him receive the dartboard used in the challenge, signed by Phil and Adrian, plus a pair of tickets to the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

In addition, hundreds of fans took part in the Three-Dart Challenge held in the Lambeth Hall at the Kia Oval before the game, with the top score of 100 by Murray Walker seeing him win a pair of tickets to the opening night of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship on December 16.

Walker, a Surrey fan from Farnham, said: "It's something I'm really looking forward to. I have not gone to a PDC event before but have been promising myself to go for some time now and I'm delighted I get the chance in December."

The night also saw Taylor spend time commentating alongside former England batsman Nasser Hussain as part of Sky Sports coverage, while both Taylor and Lewis were guests on BBC London's broadcast of the game.

Taylor had earlier helped to officially open Surrey's team dartboard, which has been set up in the players' dining room, with a game against former England ace Chris Schofield, who hit three tons in a leg of 501 against the Stoke ace, who won the leg in 13 darts.

"It was great fun," said Taylor. "I'd never been to a T20 match before but it was a really enjoyable experience and you can see why it's so popular with fans and players.

"It was great to meet Chris Schofield and he's a very good player, and a lot of the players at Surrey are into their darts. We got a great reception from the fans too."

Taylor and Lewis will be back in London later in 2011 for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, which will be played from December 16-January 2 at Alexandra Palace.
