A cheeky tenner on Mick McGowan seems a decent bet.

Thank god this is on soon it's like sporting methadone, should help the footy withdrawal symptoms.

Looking forward to Thursday night as well Frog. Loads of quick fire games, shocks and the third round draw. Should be a brilliant night of darts

There's always a chance of that with the amount of games to get through but hopefully it wont over run too much

Dont hold your breath. Remember they dont start the Second Round until the First Round is done, all it takes is for one of the boards to be full of 4-2 and 4-3 matches and it could be a late one.

The live draw is what makes this stand out. I hope they remember that.
But dont let Sid anywhere near it.

Would be nice to invite two previous legends to choose them like Lowe, Bristow etc.

It's really difficult picking value outsiders not knowing of most of them or what they're capable of.

Bear in mind they are all capable of averaging 125 over 4 legs then take it from there. I'm still waiting to hear who these "rubbish" qualifiers are.
The Speedy qualifiers still had to play two matches of normal 501 darts in order to qualify, so the idea "Mary from accounts" could have qualified was sheer lunacy.

I don't know who the Speedyhire staff qualifiers are and doubt they'd be capable of averaging 12 over 4 legs from what I heard of that comp.

12?! I can average 12.

I think you might be doing them a disservice.

Afternoon All

As a Speedyhire qualifier myself i feel i can make a comment as i've heard a lot of harsh words over the competition.
Firstly we had to be in the top 4 out of a large number of people over 15 darts only (one chance or go home) and then if in the top 4 one leg of 501 as to wether you qualified now i'm no expert but under tournament conditions and official PDC staff that was pretty nervous times.
People were throwing 180's for fun in practice but give them a one off 15 darts and they crumbled so only 4 survived each time and in a one off leg it was win or bust.
I play for a local league and feel i can average a little more than 12 as was put but it's my first competition for real and am relishing the challenge if i'm honest. A couple of lads from the Glasgow qualifier have a potential to go far as do some of the others so please only judge after the event.

I heard that some legs at the staff event went 60 darts plus Knots. Could be overstated but who knows

Hya Smurph and welcome mate.

I wasn't knocking the 15 dart challenge but the staff tournament where other qualifiers emerged from.

Anyone can throw a 60 dart leg with double trouble.

Any given player, any given day, any given board.

I heard there were two seperate events. The 15 dart challenges which were open to anyone and a staff event which was closed.

I've won league games in 45 darts and lost them after 12.

Only last week I beat frog in 20 darts then took 50 to beat gonk.

Hello Darren H here

Thanks for the kind words on my form

I must admit I feel quite confident about Bolton

Just need to get my head on and I reckon I can push William all the way

Been practising well, playing 18 dart legs and under, and winning most of them, so really just need to take this form and my qualifying form on the Oche tomorrow

Whatever happens will enjoy the experience and also will start playing a few more tournaments
