Soooo, that Football Manager game...

Post by sat » Tue May 10, 2011 10:06 pm

...which I am addicted to.

I have some questions for those who know about these things:

Is it EVER that you win an appeal?
Is it possible to get a job outside England? Have I missed a setting?
What's the way to make a homesick player happy?

Ah thankyou.

The second bit, yes AND no? So I'm just too shite currently? I know on the comp version it asked which leagues to load and told me if I loaded too many the game would be slow. I mainly play the iphone version though.

jobs become available all the time you just need to keep an eye on them and if you fancy one of them apply be careful though your current employers can get the nark

do well and you will get "headhunted"

who are you managing and in what league and how many seasons have you been playing?

The European jobs don't show up on the jobs list at all. My name rarely shows on the 'such and such has been linked with the available hotseat'.

I have already played the game through to the end once on my phone, managing lower league teams until I ended up at Newcastle.

Now on my second time through I am at Man City. Been second in the league twice, won the EURO Cup and the domestic cups and got the to quarters of the Champs last season. Should have won the league last season, grrrr, I was one point off ffs.

I used to play it on the ZX Spectrum. Addicted. When I saw Sharky mention it was available for the iphone I had to get it and have been addicted ever since, I am playing it now. Got the comp version but have hardly played as it's much more detailed and slow and I can't play that and do other stuff.

I have one player who is homesick, I even went out and bought his 'favoured player' friend and countryman. He's still pissed off.

Right.

Halfway through the season, I am 12 points clear at the top of the PL with a game in hand, in the League Cup final, still in the FA cup, still in the Champions cup, and not a single player has issues.

i think its quite clear, that as a female manager, they're expecting you to give all the players a post match rubdown.

Innit. Went 27 games unbeaten, lost one and haven't lost since. Last year was classic:

"The board are very pleased to have won the Premier League. However, the recent form of the team gives us a glimmer of hope"

... Righto.

I think I've played it too much and it's staring to freak out.

Yesterday I won the PL, Champs Cup, League Cup, FA Cup, Super Cup, and the incredibly difficult to win... World club thingy [/sarc].
Only thing I missed was the bloody community shield. I didn't save the game, my phone crashed, and now I'm halfway back through that season again.

Grrrr.
