8/4/24: Eclipse Watch

The moon will move between the Earth and the sun tomorrow or something.

For a few minutes in some areas the afternoon sun will disappear. UK people might see a bit of the event in the evening.

Enjoy the eclipse and hope the world doesn't end, unless you want it to. Hopefully no crazies will do anything stupid.

School summer holidays, I vaguely remember being in the garden and it being dark-ish.

Did you have the special sunglasses things?

There are quite some theories about the various catastrophes that may happen on eclipse day. I recommend you stay in and read the Columbo thread from start to finish.

I forgot we even had a sun. I'll take another look in September.

Sky News are following it across the US. They had somebody in Vermont just now where the darkness descended suddenly and it was so cool, then we heard two different people from the background shrieking "Holy shit!"
