Back in the Days of 32 Men and 8 Ladies

it used to be

6 Mens, 2 Ladies - Saturday Afternoon/Night
6 Men, 2 Ladies - Sunday Afternoon/Night
4 Men - Monday Night
4 Men - Tuesday Night
4 Men - Wednesday Night
2 Men, 2 Ladies - Thursday Night
2 Men, 1 Ladies (Final) - Friday Night
2 Semis - Saturday Night
1 Final - Sunday Night

This should be the template for the WDF Worlds, Have a 1st Friday Night session and abolish the Afternoon weekday (You could make a case for Friday Afternoon to remain)

Sunday should have all 4 finals. But there is scope to get 10 extra (8 Ladies, 2 Boys) into that Schedule and it would work

I don't really see them cutting down the length of the tournament now. Even though it might look better on TV and quality wise. They probably need the sessions for sales.

Especially can't really see them cutting the player numbers on the Women's side, when they made some positive press coverage for increasing prize money and entries. Still think some of that was to please the players after the PDC women's tour started.

It's not the right thing to do. More players involved the standard is worse. 32 Men is the way to go to have a competitive competition. Last 32 this year was good onwards. The Last 48 was brutal bar 2-3 performances. Same with the ladies. Make it good for TV should be the answer

Don't think they'll ever really reduce player numbers now, even though logic probably dictates otherwise.

Don't think they want negative backlash, especially after just recently slashing the mens prize money.

I agree 40 could get away with top 28 ranked 4 qualifiers
1 from 8 tables play best of 3 sets all 8 games on Friday night then still no need for Monday to Thursday afternoon
