Don’t remember Cudicini being at Chelsea that early, but he was an underrated keeper

And is that Davor Suker for Arsenal?

No recollection of him ever playing for Arsenal

I assume they bought him because he had a decent World Cup 98?

He was out of favour at Real Madrid in the 1998-99 season and his contract was up and moved to Arsenal. He was 32 at the time and beginning to be over the hill

Rooney dived, Arsenal cried
Beautiful

But that was revenge for the previous game I was in attendance for at Old Trafford

Fucking Cunt Keown winding up Van Nistlerooy, along with Parlour, Cole and Lauren

I had an English assignment where we had to do a transcription and analysis of speech.

One of the things I picked was Tyler and Gray's commentary on that Ruud penalty incident. I must have listened to it a hundred times.

Can you still recite the commentary?

And if there’s one Arsenal player I always couldn’t stand, it was Keown
Cunt is so biased for Arsenal on BT and he’s still bitter about United when he’s on commentary.

Yes I remember some parts of it vividly. Andy Gray saying 'Cor blimey' in response to the penalty decision.

And Martin Tyler practically singing "HE has HIT the BAR!" I said he sounded triumphant... He really did.

I was there and I can still hear the sound of the ball thumping off the bar

Not sure I’ve ever actually listened to the original Sky Sports commentary

Did you get a good grade on the assignment?

The sound of the ball smacking the crossbar. I like that detail. I think the assignment went well. Can't say I remember particularly :)

I also did England's 4th goal at the 1966 World Cup final and 5Live commentary of Beckham scoring a penalty for England. I remember Alan Green saying Beckham's name as though he were spitting it. More like 'Pffeckham'. Terry Butcher was co-commentator. Odd memories. I drilled it all into my brain by endless repetition. shocking stuff.

My Dad and I were in the Stretford End but the penalty happened at the scoreboard end
Vieira also got sent off and United hit the post with a cross from a Giggs free kick that evaded everyone in the box

Blimey, Alan Green. Is he still going?
He’s made himself seem like Tony Angelino’s cousin with that call. :)
I hope Butcher was supporting the head-bandage on the gantry

I assume Alan Green retired. I do miss the old bugger and his curmudgeonly ways. All these bright white-teeth banter bots of today who all agree on everything... diversity my bottom. Might as while be cloning them.
