For the people who cant be arsed to watch the interview
- Viewing figures in the PL are good, Sky happy & twitter stuff about the figures are just noise
- GSOD not going back to the civic, PDC not happy with the new arrangement
- Poland Euro Tour excellent response, Euro Tours are in great shape
- Porter blasted Challenge Tour players for moaning about 2 events in one day "We don't even have to have a challenge tour"
- World Matchplay sell out, Ladies Matchplay "Selling well"
- Cadby Visa's no real news and his management are chasing, No word on Perez progress
- Ladies Matchplay could increase to 16 as the standard of the series has risen over the last 2 years
- New Zealand World Series was a bit of a disaster so its why the events their this year are cut
- UK Open riley's qualifiers looking like they are going to stay, Ladies places considered but PDC reckon 160 is enough. The stream worked well, although its never going to pull in the casual fan and thats why the Players Championship is extended
- Nothing "Compelling" from the other orgs. Barrs didn't mention WDF (Which he usually does for every interview)

Maybe he finally realised they aren't relevant anymore.

NZ hasn't been cut. Australia has gone from 2 to 1.

He sounded quite pleased about the existence of the muck.
And highly pleased by the Poland sitaution.
He also basically confirms that a German ET will make way for the Swiss one.

I wouldn't really care if they abolished the Challenge Tour. And tell all the Nontcs to play in the other systems and they run a friday night qualifier

What would be the benefit of abolishing it? It’s the best possible place for nontcs to play in a professional environment with the best players that don’t hold professional status. Plus it only takes up 5/6 weekends of the year. As Porter rightfully said, they could’ve spread it out a lot more but the cost would be ridiculous and people wouldn’t get time off work. So doing 5 events in a weekend is whilst not perfect the best they can offer. Jenkins and Edgar are ungrateful

Cannot believe they are satisfied with the PL and not going to change it. Nearly everyone is complaining about the format

They call the critics "just noise" and are satisfied with it. In his answers I dont hear any tendency towards change

Oche wants to make more players exclusive to the WDF

He always says that, to be fair there will be a lot of people who watched it every week who don’t post on social media and enjoyed it. We only see the negative comments on twitter, they said they’d review it and take into account what the fans want. I think they know this year got slagged off maybe more than any others so I’d be surprised if they don’t change anything at all

How much can the PDC really do to make the PL interesting again?
They currently play 7 games per fixture, so it would be possible for them to return to the old format of players competing once nightly but with a 12 man field instead of a 10 man field. Many would then quickly become bored with that format though. It would still be the same faces competing under the same format each week. Of course, scrapping the entire event it would be lunacy given that it's such a money maker for the PDC.
So we are pretty much stuck with a boring weekly PDC event in the first quarter of the year.

The League format was the best of of the meh stuff. Go back to that. And actually build up anticipation for the big ones. Or have 16 players involved in knockout.

Be hard to make it overly interesting. But, the current system where you might see Smith v MVG literally every week is really killing it off. The old format you would only see it once every 8 weeks

Oh I agree the old format was better. But even that was a bit stale.
I just think the novelty of watching the best darts players in the world square off weekly has worn off, especially over the past 5 years or so. The growing TV schedule and the addition of the World Series (where the top players square off even more) hasn't helped.

Yes, although mine was to have a different 8 every week with them getting 8 goes each.
