Darts database uses the average-of-averages calculation to work out tournament averages. I've put Duff through that calc for the sake of this.

So here are the tournament winning averages of all 28 post-split BDO/WDF champs.

97.62 Van Barneveld (2003)
97.49 Van Barneveld (2005)
97.37 Walton (2001)
97.24 Durrant (2018)

96.45 Van Barneveld (1999)
95.81 Durrant (2019)
95.33 Wallace (1997)

94.96 Beaton (1996)
94.82 Fordham (2004)
94.61 David (2002)
94.51 Bunting (2014)

93.74 Adams (2010)
93.67 Mitchell (2015)
93.53 Kist (2012)
93.28 Durrant (2017)
93.19 Van Barneveld (1998)
93.10 Adams (2007)
92.70 Warren (2020)
92.41 Waites (2016)

91.84 Hankey (2009)
91.66 Adams (2011)
91.64 Webster (2008)
91.58 Hankey (2000)
91.02 Burnett (1995)

90.52 Duff (2022)
90.08 Klaasen (2006)
89.71 Waites (2013)
86.17 Part (1994)

John Boy Walton 3rd on that list.

Had the game to beat prime Taylor.

His form at the time on that 2001 embassy was outstanding. Unfortunately doesn't get the credit it deserves as the field that year was dreadful

What's worth noting is Wallace, Walton averaging higher than Adams ever has on far less friendly boards
